All The Golden Toys

by thecustomhouse

Today we read The Frog Prince.  You know the story…The princess promises to be the frog’s friend if he fetches her golden ball from the well.  He agrees and fetches it.  Then, the princess runs away.  When the frog comes to the palace to find her, the king forces the princess to honor her promise. She does so unwillingly and eventually  throws the frog across the room in anger. Right before he hits the wall, the frog turns into a kind-eyed prince.  Only then does she fall in love with him, and they are married.  After the story, I said, “The prince was very forgiving.  I don’t think I would marry someone who threw me across a room.”  One of the kids piped up, “That’s probably why you’re not married.”
