Blue Nights

by thecustomhouse

I got an audio version of Joan Didion’s Blue Nights to listen in the car on my way to work (half an hour each way), but soon found myself taking it inside and listening on my laptop. Joan Didion’s voice compels me more than any other writer with a desire to write, and to write beautifully. This is an interview she gave NPR on the book and a thoughtful review from the NYT. I warn you, though, she will break your heart (with grace and delicacy, but all the same).
