That Old Magic

I’ve been reading Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, and the book is very beautiful, but it makes me miss A River Runs Through It. Whenever I need to curl up and read through the night, the calm, measured sentences of Norman Maclean are among the few that will do. Norman Maclean is not a passive observer of nature, he brings the best of humanity into the scene, the decency and fineness of a good man with an eye for the beautiful.
