Buoyancy and Space

by thecustomhouse

Letting go of people is difficult. In my experience, break ups happen more often in romantic relationships than in other relationships, but I don’t think that makes them any easier.  Each time you really get to know someone, learn their history, you create a pocket of space inside yourself to store that information.  That’s good, space creates buoyancy and allows us to float when we are out of our native element. I could float very nicely in air or water, for example. The difficulty is that we live on land, and on land that space starts to feel like a hole.
